Savannah, Georgia Lavender Womyn Success!!

The Savannah, Georgia Lavender Womyn’s chapter had a successful first event last Saturday.  Here’s what the leader of that chapter had to share about it: 

“It was a perfect Southern night ~ a lucky dozen spent the evening sharing, laughing and eating within the screened patio overlooking the Tybee river.  SLW met their virtual acquaintances from Facebook, who are now becoming friends.  Relaxed under the mystical night sky, everyone shared a part of their life's journey ~ many shared interests were found.  Many of us have attended socials and potlucks before, however, as many SLW noted ~ none have been as connected and relaxed.” ~ Elisabeth

I believe this is the first non-Oregon chapter that has had a Lavender Womyn’s event.  Many chapters have been started outside of Oregon, but I don’t believe any of them have actually had an event until now.  So, this is great news, and possibly the start of Lavender Womyn becoming active outside of Oregon.  Congrats to Elisabeth and the Savannah Lavender Womyn’s chapter.

Lavender Womyn's Chapter in Pennsylvania

A new Lavender Womyn's chapter has just begun in Susquehanna Valley, Pennsylvania.  The leader of that group is Phyllis, who was originally from the Rogue Valley chapter, but has moved to Pennsylvania.  Here's what she has to share about starting this chapter in Pennsylvania:

"I want to extend an invitation to join Susquehanna Lavender Womyn Lesbian Social Networking Group. I've been a member of the Lavender Womyn for over a year, and would really like to get a chapter going in Pennsylvania.  It's a great way for like minded women to socialize, stay in touch, share community activities and gatherings. Some of the activities range from parties or picnics to potlucks or simply a get together to watch WNBA or football...

I would like to model this group after a rather successful group I am a member of in Southern Oregon. It has grown to over 50 members in a matter of half a year! They do everything from weekly dog walks, monthly potlucks, and participation in local pride parades! I am so proud to have been a founding member of this group, and still miss the people that I have formed lasting friendships with.

Lavender Womyn Shirts - Deadline is This Sunday

I've set up a Product page where you can order your Lavender Womyn t-shirt (short sleeve or long sleeve) and/or sweatshirt online.  The ordering of hats will be later on.  If you want a shirt, then go to:

The deadline to order your shirt(s) is this coming Sunday, June 13th.  There is a shipping charge because the shirts have to be mailed from the Rogue Valley area.

It will be quite some time before we are able to do shirts, again, because we have to have a minumum order to keep the price down.  The last time we did shirts was about 5 or 6 years ago.  So, if you want a shirt, don't wait to order one because it could be awhile.  We will, however, do a hat order soon.

Pennsylvania Gets a Lavender Womyn's Chapter

I’m excited to announce we’ve started a Lavender Womyn’s chapter in Central Pennsylvania.  Phyllis, who was part of the Grants Pass chapter, moved to Pennsylvania, and she loved being a part of Lavender Womyn so much she decided to start a chapter in her area.  Already having knowledge about Lavender Womyn will give her a great head start to getting this chapter up and running quickly.

Rogue Valley gets a Lavender Womyn Chapter!

I'm excited to annouce that the Grants Pass Lavender Womyn's chapter has done so well that they've split off into a new chapter called Rogue Valley Lavender Womyn.  This chapter will service the cities of Rogue River, Gold Hill, Central Point, Medford, Eagle Point, Shady Cove, Cave Junction, and Ashland.  The new chapter was created to better meet the needs of the women so they don't have to travel as far to socialize with community.  The Rogue Valley chapter just started last week and they already have 17 members and growing!  The Grants Pass chapter has 24 members.  These women are doing a great job in building community in their areas.  Many thanks to Jamie, Lee, and Phyllis in their diligence to lead.
