Hard work does not stop grassroots progressives from having fun. Join us in the early evening on Thursday, June 9 (5 PM to 7 PM). Buy some drinks and eat some appetizers (courtesy of Marion Democrats). Order a light dinner if you're hungry. Enjoy the company of your friends in the Democratic Party.
After we've had our fun, we'll give Nikki Javurek from Organize for America (Oregon) and a couple of our Democratic leaders a few minutes to let us know about the work that lies ahead. We need to organize the mid-valley for the important elections in 2012 ( a presidential election year). To accomplish that, we are forming grassroot groups in each house district to carry the progressive message directly to each voter's doorstep. We also need people who can make small monthly contributions to help us pay the rent on our local Democratic office in downtown Salem.
